Could anyone tell me whether these monologues are overdone?
Catherine from The Foreigner
Babe from Crimes of the Heart (the scene where she's telling Barnette what she did, with his lines cut out)
Jane from 'dentity Crisis
I could sit here for days telling you which songs are overdone, but monologues? I have no idea.
It's for district/state competition. I have been assigned the category "Solo Acting - Comedic". The problems I have with the ones from The Foreigner and Crimes of the Heart are more seriocomic. But I do think that the funny parts in those are funnier than anything in the comedic one from 'dentity Crisis.
So if anyone could tell me if they're overdone, and give advice about seriocomic vs. comic, that would be a great help. Also, if you have other monologues that you think might work, go ahead and tell me...
