So glad that Paul Thomas Anderson is back with 'The Master' which certainly seems to look a little Scientolog-y. It's so nice to have an American auteur who continues to surprise and dazzle with each film. This one looks very promising as well.
(Oh, and, relax. I'm seeing the Batman film this weekend, too.)
'THE MASTER' Trailer
The cinematography looks gorgeous.
I am hoping Joaquin Phoenix can get back to.being an awards contending actor and have that stupid performance art piece fade into public memory, mainly because he is a better actor than that.
I just re-watched MAGNOLIA (only seen it once when it came out and I was much younger) this weekend and it's as stunning as I remembered it, but even more powerful this time around, now that I "get" more of the ambition of the film. I'm sure every time I'll re-visit it it'll be a different experience and I'll get more and more.
THERE WILL BE BLOOD was fantastic but it didn't quite get to me the way MAGNOLIA does (not that it needed to, it's still a brilliant movie). So I'm incredibly excited about THE MASTER; I agree, this is the film that's gonna remind everyone what a great actor Joaquin Phoenix is, finally Philip Seymour Hoffman looks like he's not phoning it in, and Amy Adams can do no wrong. Cannot wait for this! And by the way, as usual with Anderson trailers (he sometimes--wonder if always--cuts his own trailers), this is a wonderful trailer!
I'm so excited for this I'm going to throw up.
the teaser is quite possibly one of the best and truest examples of what a teaser trailer should be.
so excited for this film
