#1Party Playlist Question?

OK - I'm having a RETRO EARLY 60s Holiday Party (Motown, Rat Pack, rock, Beatles, jazz, swing, Latin) in about 6 wks. I've concocted a Playlist of about 88 tunes, 5.4 hrs. worth. How should I pace it? In other words, start out with slow tunes for about 45 minutes, then hike up the pace, then back down, then back up, etc? Do I have too much music? Haven't thrown a big party in a long while...also, there's gonna be guests of all ages. Thanks for any ideas.

It all depends on what you want. Do you want people to mingle first and then get into faster music? I think you certainly have enough if you aren't going to be partying all night long.

Yes, I would like them to mingle first.

Yeah, I'd start with the quieter stuff first for mingling, then faster, then when you want things to wind down go back to slower.
