Plane has landed and situation is under control.

Scary.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Right-wing blogs are quoting ABC News as saying the suspect (Mohammaed al Modadi...BOO!) is a diplomat from the Qatar embassy in Washington hell-bent on jihad.

Left-wing blogs are quoting MSNBC as saying he was a hot-headed passenger, smoking a cig and mouthing off. No terror threat. NO shoe bomb.

CNN says it was a pipe.

Fox News says "A diplomat from Qatar was arrested Wednesday evening after reportedly trying to light his shoes on fire on a flight from Washington, D.C., to Denver, but details of the incident remain unclear."

Huffington Post quotes the AP as saying the incident aboard a Washington to Denver flight Wednesday night appears to have been a misunderstanding after the man was confronted trying to sneak a smoke in the bathroom. The official says the man "made a joke about it" – which only alarmed people further. No explosives were found on the man and officials do not believe he was trying to harm anyone.
