I wanted to update last January's angel thread with the names and faces of those who passed during the last year. Apparently I had a senior moment last January because there was no thread to update! So ....
This is dedicated to those wonderfully talented ladies and gentlemen of the past who celebrated their birthdays in January. They're gone - but their contributions to the entertainment world will make them live forever in our hearts and our memories.
Thank you so much for this bonus Mamie!
Your "Passing Angels" threads have been the best BWW has to offer.
Happy New Year with peace, good health, prosperity and much happiness to you!

there are so many great ones in January!!!
imgaine, Sophie Tucker & Ernie Kovacks in the same month!!!
& that photo of Jane Wyman, WOW!
thanks, Mamie!
What an amazing group of talent! And so lovingly presented.
Thank you, Mamie!
Thank you all for your kind words. There were just too many greats this month to let them go by without a tribute.
Who'd have thought that grand old man George Burns would be sharing a month with another gentleman who was even older than he?! Charles Lane would have been 103 this month.
(Happy birthday Loretta and Danny!)

Go Mamie! Thank you for this!
Some of them were just so beautiful. It's something I've laways loved about these threads: Seeing the classic beauty that is so hard to find in the present.

Thanks again as always.
Fantasic!
Stunning and moving, Mamie. Thank you for this gift.
Bumpety bump bump.
Thanks Mamie.
This thread always puts me in a somber mood for a few minutes but I salute you for paying homage to these angels.
bumped to add Suzanne Pleshette
Were Troy Donahue and Guy Madison studs or what?
Thanks again, Mamie.
I had SUCH a deadly crush on Troy Donahue! I used to buy all these film and teen magazines with his picture in them and then cut out the full page ones and tape them all over the walls of my bedroom. (That scene in "Grease" rings very true with me!)
In August 2001, I had the pleasure of meeting Connie Stevens at a party in New York. I told her that I was a huge fan of hers too. I told her that I had dark hair that my parents always made me cut in a dutch boy style (Just like Scout in my avatar). I thought she was the most wonderful person in the world because she had a long blond pony tail AND she got to kiss Troy Donahue. She loved the story and said he was an absolute sweetheart. He passed just a month later.

i scanned this photo of young Sophie Tucker from her autobiography!
i love that devilish look on her face!
Awww, Mamie. Don't stop. We LOVE these!
Well, this will be my compromise. We keep losing people and the lists will always need updating. I'll do that - just pull up the old list and add in the new names and faces. OK?
ps to tommyboy - I wasn't able to reply to your pm but I did make a note for myself to add Laurie to the April angels.
