Some of the wonderfully talented ladies and gentlemen of the past who all celebrated their birthdays in May. They're gone - but their contributions to the entertainment world will make them live forever in our hearts and our memories:
Wow! Great job, Mamie.
Btw, that's the hottest picture of Audrey Hepburn I've ever seen.
I share a birthday with Perry Como and Margot Fonteyn - so weird as I sing like him and dance like her! Who else here is a Taurus?
wow. great post, thanks mamie. does anyone else remember where they were when they heard the news that katherine hepburn died? she was a class act, that lady.
another FABULOUS job Mamie !!! I'm so glad you now added the men too.

Wow! Audrey Hepburn, Anne Baxter and Jeanne Crain in cowboy hats!
And Rosemary Clooney skinny...
Thanks as ever, Mamie. Yes--and thanks for adding in the men.
Thank you all.
RobbO - I'm still not entirely convinced that she's gone. She was just too much of a life force to actually pass away. I almost moved into the Promenade Theatre when Kate Mulgrew was there with Tea at Five.
Thanks for the nice comments all. The Audrey pic falls in line with the general Western theme here. I did this for one reason only - my own personal nod to Jay Silverheels. When I found that 'non-Tonto' photo of him, I decided to try and put as many of the others as possible into Western gear.
Wow, it's great to see BOTH Hepburns!
Great job Mamie (as always)!
So great of you to do this Mamie! Wonderful job, as usual...and love the addition of the boys.
Where you find some of these surprising photos I can't imagine(Audrey's is amazing!)
I can still hear Helen O'Connell tell me to hear "...these words from....CaMAY!"
What a fantastic month! And such a lovely picture of my Miss Audrey. I think I need a movie marathon this weekend...
I'm kicking this up for the simple reason that it took WAY too long to put together to see it disappear this fast.
Mamie..this thread should stay at the top for the whole month !! Hello mods...is this thing on?
Thank you dear. I wanted it to stay up here at least until Glebb had a chance to see it. He's the one who keeps asking me to do these. I'm never real sure if anyone else cares as much about them. In truth I love doing them although it's getting harder to find the time since I've gone back to work.
we care, mamie. and, trust me, from someone who has posted many, many pictures on broadwayworld, i understand how much time and energy it takes. add in the research, posting names and dates for each photo, and it makes this thread priceless. plus, who doesn't love "the greats."
thank you.
I consider that a nod from the master. Thank you so much sir!
please, i just pick random photos from the internets and put goofy captions to them. your threads take intelligent research and talent!
Thank you Mamie.
I love your 'Passing Angels' threads.
So many gorgeous stars but this May my favorites are Margot and Rudy (V). :)
I didn't really "discover" Katharine Hepburn until last year, but I'm totally in love with her. She's just incomparable.
There you are! Thanks G. I love that pic of Rudy too. He was one hot dude. You can see why the ladies (and I'm sure quite a few gents) did themselves in when he passed away so young.
I went back over this whole list to see if I had ever had the chance to meet or at least see (in person) any of these lovely folks. I was kind of surprised that I hadn't. Then I remembered having an encounter with an elderly gentleman when I was 14 years old. I was introduced to this man and (I'm sorry to say) I don't remember his name but I do remember that he was a professor at a university in Canada. When introduced, he bowed to this little girl, took her hand and kissed it! Nobody had ever done anything like that before in my life (or since). I learned a little later that he was Rudy V.'s first cousin. Apparently all that charm was genetic!
Wow! Very cool story.
Thank you, thank you for the Passing Angels threads. :)

This should be kept at the top, what a fabulous source you made Mamie!
I share my birthday with Rick Nelson apparently, although I must admit I've never heard of him nor quite a few others in this post. I always wish my birthday was a day earlier or later, I have to say I'd love to share a birthday with Anne Baxter!
Never heard of Ricky Nelson?
I'm so incredibly OLD......
