Lovely as always, Mamie.

You chose a particularly beautiful picture of Miss Audrey. She was a true lady, inside and out re: Passing angels - for May

All gorgeous and talented! But, Rosemary Clooney (5/23/1928 - 6/29/2002) sticks out!!!

Thank you. I'm curious - what did you think of the pic of Kate Hepburn? I found many from when she was young, but I didn't think any of them were as beautiful as this picture. Somehow I felt like she would have prefered the older picture herself.

I love it! It speaks more of who she was as an actress and a woman than a younger picture would've. She was always Kate, but I don't feel she became Katharine Hepburn until she was older.

Thanks, Mamie. I think every photo you chose truly captures the essence of each woman...at least as we knew them.

Thank you Mamie.

So many lovely and talented women. "That's MISS Peggy Lee, if you please!"

But I can't get past the Hepburns - both Audrey and Kate. Two of my all-time favorite human beings. Ever.

Glebby - I had a terrible time trying to find a portrait-type picture of Isadora Duncan. The few that I did find were dark and very unflattering. So I went for what she did best and most beautifully. I hope I did her honor with this picture!

Mamie, you did Isadora justice!
That is a picture I've never seen and it is the best I've ever seen.
Now what about my all time favorite - Margot?
Is that gorgeous or what?

Mamie - as long as you didn't show Isadora in a car, I think you're safe!

And Glebb, I thought of you when I saw Margot! Margot and Rudolph . . . *sigh*

Oh - I loved Margot so much! She made me a fan of the ballet when I was the ripe old age of 8 and I'll always be grateful to her for that! I wonder if I shouldn't have shown her dancing as well? She was beautiful on or off the stage.

If you want Rudy (and I would have KILLED for his cheekbones!) then you're going to have to do one of these threads for the males. I just don't have the time to do them all!

I have a very limited awareness of such things, but Margot will ALWAYS be the ultimate Swan to me.

re: Passing angels - for May

She took class with us in Miami (on one of her many tours) when I was a little boy. Royal blue leotard, pink tights, no leg warmers - completely gorgeous. Later that week I got to stand in the wings and watch her dance Cinderella. I met her again when she came back stage at City Center, after a performance of Nutcracker - 1987. She had silver hair and spoke with me as though we had known each other all of our lives. She is the greatest star.

Beautiful pictures, Mamie.

...I'm amazed at how long it's been since some of them passed. It doesn't seem so long ago, yet years have gone by...

What a loving tribute.

beautiful as always, Mamie! So many beautiful and gifted angels for this month! Anyone care to join me in BWW renditions of "Hey There" and "Moon River" in honor of Rosemary and Audrey?
