She was the stepsister with the creaky knees in the Leslie Anne Warren CINDERELLA, Ursula the Sea Witch in THE LITTLE MERMAID, and Suzanne Somer's mother on the tv series SHE'S THE SHERIFF.

What other important roles did she take on?

Another favorite character actress of mine! I first noticed her as, Bunny Halper, the wife of Danny Thomas's agent on Make Room For Daddy. She did a ton of TV in the sixties and seventies, and then in the eighties she did a one-woman show about Gertrude Stein which was actually pretty good. She must be still alive, but I haven't heard anything about her in years.

I think she voiced the villian in "The Little Mermaid 2," as well.

She has done Urusla for all the movies and various TV shows of THE LITTLE MERMAID. As well as when Ursula makes 'appearances' on other Disney TV shows.

Her major theatrical contribution was her one-woman show 'Gertrude Stein, Gertrude Stein' which was very critically acclaimed. She was also a Tony nominee for Catch a Star in 1955 (featured actress in a musical) Updated On: 8/27/04 at 11:14 PM

I saw her as Mother Superior in a production of Nunsense in Boston.

Did you like her as Mother Superior?
I can't be sure but she would seem to be a friend of Sue Simmons.

Sue Simmons? LOL. Now that's an obscure reference for non-New Yorkers. But, yeah, that's about right.

A few years ago she played Falstaff (with full beard)in a production of MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR a the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC.

In case you were wondering, she is indeed a big ole' lesbian.

She graduated from Catholic University in DC. Upon her graduation, she wanted to get a start in New York theatre, but had no money to get there - so she rode her bike, all the way from DC to NYC!
