Okay, maybe someone can help explain the technicalities of stage names to me. Today my class met with Paul Rudd. I was quite excited when I first heard about this, until my teacher mentioned he was in a 70's show called Streamers. When I saw the character he played was not a little boy, I knew it was not the same Paul Rudd. This one is obviously much older. It was still cool to meet with him, but yeah, how is it possible that two actors can go by the exact same name with the same spelling? What exactly are the rules in terms of stage names and such?
Speaking of him, I found this photo. He's pretty hot.
I believe stage/screen names depend on the guilds. I remember something about Philip Seymour Hoffman saying something about there already being a Philip Hoffman, so he added the Seymour.
