Okay, maybe someone can help explain the technicalities of stage names to me. Today my class met with Paul Rudd. I was quite excited when I first heard about this, until my teacher mentioned he was in a 70's show called Streamers. When I saw the character he played was not a little boy, I knew it was not the same Paul Rudd. This one is obviously much older. It was still cool to meet with him, but yeah, how is it possible that two actors can go by the exact same name with the same spelling? What exactly are the rules in terms of stage names and such?

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

re: Paul Rudd

Speaking of him, I found this photo. He's pretty hot.

I believe stage/screen names depend on the guilds. I remember something about Philip Seymour Hoffman saying something about there already being a Philip Hoffman, so he added the Seymour.

I did it before you did, Fiction. My post got deleted, though. Guess Paul's chest and legs are just too risque for this board.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
