Just walked by Dag Hammaskjold Park and happened upon a Dancing in the Streets performance by the Taylor 2 company.
Six beautiful dancers, 3 beautiful pieces, a lovely breeze cooling them on on a hot summer day.
I love New York.
WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I wanna be a part of it.....
Just get on a plane Wildy and get your arse here !!!
It was so lovely. A piece with music by Handel, the second was a duet with two extraordinary dancers--Jared Wootan and Jamie Rae Walker--and a third with tango music by Astor Piazolla. The day before they had done 3 other pieces, including Paul Taylor's great Andrews Sisters piece.
I've seen some of the tango piece in the brilliant Paul Taylor doco "Dancemaker".
And Boobsy....I got professional commitments!
Mahnattan is indeed wonderful.
So much amazing stuff going on everywhere. I used to love to just duck in The Forbes Magazine Collection for free to see the Faberge Eggs.
If interested in Paul Taylor, read "Private Domain", his autobiography. Besides being a prolific choreographer (Cloven Kingdom and Arden Court being two of my very favorites), Paul Taylor is an amazing writer. Read PD many years ago but can't forget the story of his dealings with Martha Graham.
PalJoey, I need to take walks with you more often! That sounds lovely.
