Has anyone here been in the Peace Corps? If so, would you mind sharing your experience? I am thinking about applying once I graduate (which, granted, is three years in the future, but I'm really thinking this is something I want to do so I want to get relevant experience now so I'm better prepared if I get chose as a volunteer.)

I didn't do it, but one of my cousins did. She absolutely loved it. She is now in London for grad school.

My cousin did Peace Corps as well and loved it although of course it was terribly difficult and she was constantly getting robbed. She did meet her husband though and brought him back to the U.S. I did the domestic version of Peace Corps----AmeriCorps.

I work in the international development field in DC, so I know a bunch of returned PC folks. I can see if any of them would be willing to share with you.

If you're on Facebook, there are a number of groups for returned volunteers. You can certainly try to make contact that way as well.
