I've had a plain ol' cell phone for about 2 years now (late to the game). I'd like to get something that has at the very least phone and email capabilities that doesn't cost a lot--any recommendations? (I'm with Cingular/AT&T and I'd like to stay with 'em). I steering clear of an iPhone--too many features that I won't use.
Thanks!

I got this, but it was $250 after rebate. I can work on my word documents, and it has WiFi, GPS and Internet.
It is not as flashy as the iPhone, but I have been pleased so far.
I find it interesting that you say that you want email, phone and internet but you don't want the iPhone because there are too many things you won't use. Those (and mp3s) are the thing that the iPhone does best.
Before I got my iPhone I was a casual email user that frequently left the house without his phone. Now I don't go anywhere without my iPhone.
I am just too cheap to pay the monthly charge for an iPhone. I got a deal on the service plan.
But, if money was not an option, I would get an iPhone.

I was able to get in on the tail end of an employee deal thanks to a friend, and I have free unlimited data and text, with 500 anytime minutes (with free nights and weekends).
That plan is no longer offered. I got in just under the wire.
Thanks for the replies! I thought there were high fees for email usage, too, which is why I wanted something simpler, but you know, I don't think that exists. You have cell phones, and then a huge gap, and then things like the Palm Treo with full keyboards.
My regular cell phone has a bunch of features that I don't use, so an iPhone most certainly will. I mean, that mug of beer trick on the iPhone is extremely cute, but I can without it. :)
