The mansion in the second picture is of one of the beautiful palaces built in the 1700's in a little city outside Berlin called Postam. There were about 4 or 5 beautiful mansions like that. The pictures don't give it justice!

The other pic is of my boys and I getting ready to go out!! The clubs in Berlin are NUTS!!!! They dont get going until 1 am and one of the clubs we went to was open for 3 days straight!!! We left that one club at about 8 in the morning. Most of the people there were on something to keep them going , but for us it was pure adrenaline!!

You're making me miss Deutschland.
Did you just go to Berlin, or did you go to some other places?
When I went there last sumer, I didn't get to Berlin, but I did go to Köln/Cologne.

Thanks Jay=-) So... we only did Berlin this trip. I only had a week I could afford to take off work and school so I figured we would stay pretty much in Berlin.

that little city called Potsdam was at one time, one of the most powerful places on Earth, when Frederick the Great called it home.

I hope you were a good boy, and didn't stray into any "dark rooms" in the bars ;o)

I am looking forward to seeing the Reichstag next monrth. I last saw it in 1993, and it was boarded up.

glad you had a good time

Jay, well be in Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona next month

definately.....we've got some great and reasonable hotels.....well, the one in Barcelon is a bit more expensive, but the Seville one is ranked one of the best for it's class, convenient to everything as is the one in Madrid, but once we're back I'll let you know how they went.

Let's hope the $ is better in December than it is now.

Thanks, Elphaba, you gave me enough info to find that palace on the internet. It's called the New Palace and is indeed in Potsdam.

A club open for three days!! Oh, to be in 20s again.

re: Pictures from Berlin

nm....the "dark rooms" are marvelous.....well, when I was single they were. I met a couple in 1993 in Frankfurt that......well, let's just say I almost missed my plane.

Sanssouci Park is amazing, another palace is seen here

I didnt get stuck in any of the dark rooms but, a few of my friends did.... needless to say they got strep throat and passed it to me!

I would have to say that Postam was the highlight of my trip. I have more pictures but I need to download them still.

re: Pictures from Berlin

Potsdam is beautiful, but it's only the tip of the iceberg in beautiful castles/palaces.

I actually prefer Nymphenburg in Munich, the schloss in Karlsruhe (pictured, and where I spent 2 years when I was in the Army), Coburg Castle....etc. Hopefully one day you'll get to see these and more. In my opinion, the best are in Baveria....

We actually probably aren't seeing Potsdam this timr, as I have never seen Charlottenburg in Berlin, and this time will.

eek, strep...not good. They are lucky that's all they got....no fun, sorry that happened, but happy you had a good time otherwise.
