Okay, I saw the movie for the second time, which is one time too many in such a short time period, and while watching it both times, I was constantly plagued by one problem:

Does anyone else wonder why that damned monkey is still undead?

Did I miss something here? I probably did, but I really need someone to explain it to me before my brain explodes.

Thanks!

Dunno but when I saw the movie I just felt it was rudderless.

I don't know. All the pirates are now apparently mortal. But Barbosa is still undead, isn't he? And it's his monkey so maybe that's why.

I wish my monkey was undead, then I could shoot him and he wouldn't even feel it. He felt it last time I tried...

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

I can answer this question. And this is something that bugged me, because I knew most people wouldn't know.

There is an easter egg at the end of the credits of the first movie. During this short sequence, you see the monkey take a piece of the Aztec gold. Thus the monkey is still cursed and still undead.

I figured most people aren't dorks (like me) who watch all the way to the end and see that. But there you go.

actually i totally knew that too and have had to explain it to absolutely all of my friends who didn't remember. so welcome a fellow dork to the club :)

and i have seen this movie 5 times so far so any questions could def be answered by me. almost no doubt i could answer any questions... the dice game, barbossa being alive, davy jones's love, etc.

Thanks, that was really bugging me! I just wish they could have implemented the Easter Egg some other way so people would know why the monkey was still undead. But then, I guess it wouldn't qualify as an Easter Egg.
