re: Plane Crash in Toronto

the film doesn't look good.......heavy smoke and flames.....not sure any could have survived.........could have been much worse if it had hit that freeway

re: Plane Crash in Toronto

MSN reported two busload of survivors. Probably more severe still being triaged at scene.

Yes, if it hit that highway it would have been even more of a nightmare.

re: Plane Crash in Toronto

They just said on CNN that there were *some* survivors that were taken to local hospitals... unsure if they were from the plane or not..

There's been confirmation that the pilot and some passengers have been taken to the hospital.

re: Plane Crash in Toronto

I just heard there were no fatalities. Not certain how true that is. But the plane was said not to have burst into flames until after it was evacuated.

Always pay attention to the exit locations.

re: Plane Crash in Toronto

An Amtrak train just crashed today in my local area. I took the same train yesterday.

And now the plane crashes in Toronto. I fly to AZ tomorrow morning.

I have a feeling I'm gonna get hit by a bus.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: Plane Crash in Toronto

I'm watching the Toronto news stations now -- thank God there doesn't seem to be many casualties (if any). The plane reportedly came down in one piece, with only the nose of the jet buried in the ravine by Highway 401. The pilot has been taken to the hospital, but most of the passengers got out through the emergency shutes once the plane stopped.

An unfortunate accident, but thank goodness it isn't as bad as it could have been.

I think CNN is jumping the gun a bit (how would they know so soon?), but nevertheless it's heartening news.
