PS3 is...
1. Overpriced
2. Not any better than XBOX 360
3. Lacking anything new
Why would anyone buy this?
I saw on the news one guy in the US actually flew to Japan to be one of the first to get one
Barnum was right
Don't worry, all game systems eventually go way down in price after about a year or so. I think you can get a brand new PS2 or Gamecube for about 120$, which is way less than the $300 I spent for each of them when they first came out.
I think I read that it has High Definition and internet built inside . . . plus other things.
It contains a Blu-ray Disc player (Sony's brand new hi-definition format).
BD players normally cost about $800 to $1,000 each, just for that... and it's included as part of the PS3.
Apparently there are already losers outside the Best Buy here in Westbury.
They are releasing only 400,000 of them initially... so that accounts for the line.
They're expected to go on backorder very quickly.
While I don't have the money at the moment, you can bet that as soon as I do, I will be purchasing a PS3. Playstation consistently has some of the best exclusive games [meaning only for PS], add in the Blu-Ray and the six-axis [which I'm still not 100% okay with, but should still be interesting] and you've got the makings of some REAL potential for gaming.
Zikes.
I heard that the PS3 is having a lot of problems because the highly talked about graphics only work really well on Sony's high def TVs. They are have problems getting the systems to work well on normal TVs. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but it is enough to make me want to hold on to my $600 until the system is released for a while and they get all of the kinks worked out.
