Please post a comment on my latest blog entry. I am truly upset he was left off. Please let your voice be heard. I will submit these comments to The Academy in hopes they will issue a statement that they regret leaving Renfro off the telecast.
We Miss You Brad

Who?
Oh, brother.
" Instead, the tribute featured at least 20 people I've never heard of."
Just because YOU never heard of them means they were not worthy?
I am sure if they put Renfro up there a majority of the veiwers would be saying the same thing about him, "Who the F is THAT?"
I thought they only included members of the academy and Renfro wasn't a member.

They showcase many artists and craftsmen in the movie business in those tributes. Not just recognizable actors. They have a limited amount of time, and most of the people they pay tribute to have either won Oscars, been nominated, or have been longstanding members of the Academy.
I'm sure there's a wonderful editor, cinematographer or art director that died this year that was left off as well. Unless you want to rally for them too, I'm not interested.
There's mention of this very subject in today's "LA Times." If you remember from the film montage that aired, it covered artists from a certain 12 month period - January 31, 2007 through February 1, 2008.
Roy Scheider passed away after the cut off and will be on next year's montage.
Brad died 1/15/08, and the Academy stated, "just simply an editing decision because, unfortunately, we can't include everyone, every year."

"Well, then Heath shouldn't have been included either, seeing as he died after Brad."
But it's the Oscars, and Heath was a previous Oscar nominee.
