Hey, guys!
Thank you so much for all the positive vibes! They must've really worked, 'cause the show went amazingly well last night, in spite of my being in a splint. In fact, all these people came up to me afterwards and said, "Now, is there something wrong with your arm, or is that a fashion statement?" (I had covered up the splint with a black sock that I'd cut the toe out of and basically made into a long, fingerless glove. Looked pretty funky with my cocktail dress, but whatever.) Apparently, I covered my being injured well enough (used my left hand to play my percussion parts, switched arms on a lot of my individual choreography/staging, etc.) that people really thought I was just wearing that black thing to look cool. LOL
I did feel bad that we had to cut a couple lifts from "All That Jazz," (and how we filled that time wasn't all that exciting, since we didn't have much time to figure it out), but the number's still adorable, and hopefully tonight we'll have a little more time to finesse it.
So anyway, my wrist is OK, all things considered. It's "just" a severe sprain with tendonitis. I'm in a heavy-duty splint, which I have to wear for at least two weeks, and it's sore, but I got a prescription for some industrial-strength anti-inflammatories that I'm taking, so my fingers look a lot less like Vienna sausages now. =)
I hope you LA folks can make it to the show! We were sold out last night, and the crowd had such a good time, it was hard to get them to leave at the end of the night.
