Posted: 8/24/05 at 8:44pmI need to learn a pop song for an audition on September 6th. I also have to sing a broadway song, can someone recommend a pop song for a teenager with a high belt- I am a soprano, but can also do alto. Thanks so much!

Posted: 8/25/05 at 12:20amI will Love Again by Lara Fabian. It's pop and has a nice beat. It isn't too mainstream so you won't have to worry about it being over done. (plus if you get the karaoke version it has an extra 30 seconds at the end... so you can add as much improv as you want. I performed it and added whistle notes at the end.)

for pop music maybe you could try some stuff from Celine Dion from a few years ago. It's mostly in the high alto soprano range and heavy on belting. As for a broadway song that requires some belting, I am drawn to Once upon a Time from Brooklyn the musical. I'm not sure if you can actually get the score for it yet but it would be worth a shot it's such a great song. Also a song from Once on this Island called Waiting for life is an awesome song maybe try that one out
