I let it pass the first 2 times but this is the third! Is anyone else having a problem with this? It seems to be the "Cheep tickets ad". I'm not 100% sure, I only get to see it a for a moment before I'm kicked off!

Why don't you just block them?

Not everyone has that feature. I remember one time I had a porn ad pop up when I opened the board.
There is a free program to block them if you want it, I love it though its not perfect. Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition. Search under that and you can get it. I got it from pcworl along with Ad-Aware which I also recommend if you haven't gotten it.
D,
Depending on what system you're using, you can block those entirely. Your isp may also have that feature...what do you use?
I think that automatic (free) updates on Windows XP or 2000 get rid of them. My pop-ups vanished on my laptop one day. If you haven't done those annoying updates recently -- I used to hate the little baloon telling me to -- do it now. I think it might help. If you have an older version of windows, check with Microsoft.
We're not running any popup ads on the site, it's possible you've gotten them from another site or something that you've downloaded... Google's Search Bar has a fantastic pop-up blocker in it that I recommend:
http://toolbar.google.com/
d, you might wanna make sure that your anti-virus software is up to date and that it has a spyware/adware component to it. my wife's computer started getting those peky pop-ups and it got to the point that they rendered it unusable on the internet. it turned out that her machine was infected with practically every virus knwon to humankind...it's surprising that either of us are still alive with how virulent the strains on that machine were. my advice, make sure that you have the most up to date virus definitions and are actively checking to remove adware/spyware. we ended up having to wipe the entire harddrive and start from scratch. no fun at all.

Thanks all. I have McAfee Virus Scan and Windows XP (ugh--I won't go there with what I THINK of eXtra Problems) and have tried a couple of free ad blocker and they messed my computer up big time.
The funny thing, Rob is that the only page I'm on before I come here is the RoadRunner home page.
I'll try what you said and check the XP home page for any downloads to help.
Many thanks to all for the help. I'll let you know what I've tried and how well it works.
