Hmmm, not sure why you felt the need to post this on both the main board and off-topic, but I'll post my response here as well:
As evidenced by the 1/09/06 date on that article, this is really old news and has been discussed here on the forums already.
The search feature is a really good way to ensure that things aren't doubled posted. Here is the previous thread where this been discused:

Patronus, with your Snape av that little message came across in a very stern/serious way. It is so funny how avs can do that lol. I could just hear Snape saying that stuff.
Yes, I suppose it does come across as particularly Snape-ish.
The one on the main page was even better:

Patronus, if you ever decide to change your name on here I know what your new name should be- Professor Snape

Kitzy, did he break your paddle in the spanking shed?
Every time I think Tim Burton, I think of the story Kevin Smith tells about his run in with Burton. heh
I was at one of the talks Kevin Smith did. That story is hilarious. Kevin is a great guy. I have a picture with him and a friend of mine.
Oooh, I wanna know the story!
I don't remember all the details and would probably butcher it if I tried to retell it so let's let JG2 fill you in.
Okay, if you have seen Planet of the Apes and Jay and Silen Bob Strike Back this will make more sense. In one of the Bluntman and Chronic comic books:
Kevin had Apes take over the world in a dream sequence. Specifically, he showed the Lincoln Memorial with an Ape instead of Lincoln. In Planet of the Apes, Tim used the exact same scene but on film. A reporter called Kevin and asked him to comment on the similarities. Kevin, being the sarcastic ass that we love said: "My jaw hit the ground when I saw that scene," Smith told New York Post movie critic Lou Lumenick. "I think I got robbed and I'm talking with my lawyers about possibly suing." He was obviously joking, but the reporter reported it as serious.
Burton responded by saying something to the effect of, "I would never lower myself to read a Kevin Smith comic." I can't find the direct quote. Kevin made statements all over the plalce that it was taken out of context and that he wasn't suing anyone. It is just hysterical to hear Kevin tell the story. Kevin was also supposed to help write Superman Lives, but was bumped as soon as Tim Burton signed on.
I loved his "the most deadly animal on earth" story. What director was that about?
Kevin also had an interesting story to tell about being hired to write the script for the remake of Superman, which was to star Nicholas Cage. The producer, Jon Peters was Barbara Streisand's hairdresser, who later married Barbara and produced some of her movies. Kevin met with Peters at his house to go over the script with him. Peters then told Kevin the three points that Kevin had to adhere to when writing the script:
1) Superman couldn't wear the Superman suit.
2) Superman couldn't fly.
3) In the third act, Superman should fight with a giant spider.
Kevin was incredulous. When he went back to the Warner Brothers studio, they asked him "is Jon still talking about the giant spider?" He found out that Jon Peters had attended open house at his kid's school and learned that spiders are the fiercest creatures in the animal kingdom.
Tim Burton was hired to direct Superman, and eventually hired his own writers. In the end Superman was never made.
An interesting postscript to this story is that later Kevin went to see the movie Wild Wild West. Jon Peters finally got his giant spider.
JG, did you go to one of his talks or just see the DVD?
I love the DVD! Although my favorite story from it is far too inappropriate for BWW message boards. And that's even by MY standards
PM me dear...
