Landing scheduled for 3 hours for now.
Over a million working parts...just too much to go wrong. It was a noble attempt but it's time for NASA to give up and focus elsewhere.

Posted: 8/9/05 at 7:40amHow about people keep their prayers quiet and in their home where they belong instead of flooding a public Broadway message board with them?

So true Albin, but space exploration is important. The ISS has to be finished.
baddadnpa, you see a prayer thread don't click on it. Remember this is on the Off Topic Board.

Albin, you said:

Sorry, that's just ridiculous........if mankind thought that, we'd have no planes, no cars, no ships, no medical machines vital to keep people healthy.........there are always risks. Mankind is just not the type to sit on Earth and stop "discovering" stop "evolving", stop moving "forward". People know the risks....there are risks every day IN daily life.
too much can always go wrong. But it is NOT in makinds nature to NOT take risks because something may go wrong.....

Elphaba, did you notice the part that said "focus elsewhere?"
I'm all for the space program, going back to the Moon and then on to Mars. I'm not saying they shouldn't risk, shouldn't explore, shouldn't move forward, shouldn't evolve BUT, there are other ways to get to space and NASA should focus on those, not an aging fleet of extremely complicated vehicles.
