I applied to Syracuse University and Carnegie Mellon University for their Pre-College Musical Theatre programs. I got into Syracuse's and am waiting on Carnegie Mellon. If I get into CMU's as well, which one has a better program pre-college summer program?
Also, what can you tell me about either program? Amount of students in the musical theatre programs, etc. I'm a high school sophomore, so I was also wondering how many other high school sophomores are usually accepted into these programs?

i'm glad i got a chance to respond to this before other people intensely lobbying for their favorite school....
honestly, GO TO THE ONE YOU LIKE MORE. don't try to do it because it looks good for college or anything like that. both places will give you good training. make your choice based on YOU, not on which one other people say is better, because it's totally OPINION.
it's good that you're asking for info on both, though. hopefully people will be able to help out with that!

my two best friends each went to one of those programs last summer.
My friend at Syracuse had a really good time but the one at CMU i think was more intense.. i dont know if that really helps all that much..
I DO know that at syracuse she was rooming with 3 other grils in her program and at CMU my friend was rooming with some one else in the summer program, not a musical theatre person

CMU?
Oh boy. I know people who are working as pre-college counselors this summer. Make friends with your counselors, for they are fun 'n' crazy people.
But yes, the CMU precollege program IS intensive. I mean, their summer courses are extremely intensive--if the summer precollege program is up to that level...........
Anyway, have a great time and learn lots.
