Pre-recording

Posted: 8/16/04 at 1:55pmI have heard many people complain that many things in musicals are pre-recorded as opposed to live. I know some parts of POTO are pre-recorded, and that the "I'm Flying" number in recent productions of "Peter Pan" is usually pre-recorded. Can anyone tell me what other shows use pre-recorded music or vocals?

I'm Flying is not prerecorded..iot is live.
In teh recent Rigby revival, when it was filmed, it was filmed live, but during retakes, rigby lipsynced, poorly, to the live recording.

Bombay Dreams uses lip-synching, but I think it's during a scene where the characters are filming a lip-synched musical number.
*is dizzy*

What is a sweetner track? Could you explain a little more? Do they pre record each time a lead is replaced in those where leads lip synch a solo? Is the ¨Phantom of the Opera¨number re'recorded each time a new Phantom is cast?
THank for sharing.
