Is this the reason W sent his lil' bro to Indonesia? Put him in the limelight? I mean, yea, he has had some experience with some storms in Florida, but is he really an expert on this kind of disater? It just reeks of "Let's keep this dynasty alive..." and using a horrible, horrible tragedy to do it is beyond disgusting.
Another Bush...president??
AAAAAAAAUUUGHHHHH!!!!
Yeah, it seems very calculated... I do remember reading that he said he wouldn't run, but that doesn't mean much.
Politics aside,
Jeb's son, George Prescott Bush, is one of the most beautiful men on the planet.
*sigh*
God just the thought of having a President named Jeb is disturbing, but the fact that his last name is Bush makes it 50 times worse...
So ~FF~ and ck, do you have an opinion on something other than hormones? What do you think W's motives were for sending his brother to take care of this? Do you think he really thought Jeb was the best person for the job or that the sib needed some global exposure? I don't really care if you want to screw his son.
Aren't we so terribly serious for once.
You are in a position where you need to send someone to deliver a message and some aid. Your 'A' team is busy with a war. Your 'B' team is running around in the Middle East... You'd like someone who has managed a large land mass through natural disasters. The governor of Louisiana is drunk, and Alabama doesn't want to go to a disaster area, he has to concentrate on the much more disastrous literacy levels in Mobile.
I don't think he's grooming Jeb. Does he want positive exposure for his family, probably. How is Jeb the wrong person for the job? Tell me that. Who would you have sent?
It's entirely possible that he's trying to shove Jeb in the direction of the white house.
But I don't believe that Jeb will get there.
I am inclined to think that three Bushes is a bit much for the country to take. Even some of the GOP might find that a bit too much like a monarchy.
I don't know who I would have sent in his place. But I am sure there are others more qualified. Having just heard Powell say that he hopes that America's response will improve our image world wide kind of made me think this was all for show. True charity asks for no repayment. Not to improve your image or to promote a family member's aspirations. Why can't we just help without crowing about all we are doing and "aren't we great for doing it? See, America is not THAT bad."
Well Sueleen, I think that we are calling attention to it, because initially, we were seeing reports that the rest of the world was offended because we had not done enough.
I was seeing GNP and GDP comparisons, talk of leaders on siesta, and the notion that the richest country in the world was only tossing a penny into the hat of the victims.
The publicity is more of a defensive maneuver than anything else. Additionally, I can't think of any American better to go over there and say, "I know how you're feeling..."
Do you think Dubya has EVER made a decision on his own as president?
Here is an idea, why not cancel the inaugration and all the parties and send the millions saved to Indonesia.
oh please, this is all to distract the american public from the fact that gw will be celebrating another stolen election while the rightful president, dr. dean, sits stewing in vermont while he plots with maureen dowd the complete humiliation of the red states by taunting them as hillbillies. it's awful i tells ya, awful!!
that george bush ought to be ashamed of himself for even waking up in t he morning. i mean after all this whole tsunami thing is his fault because through his anti-gay policies he angered the ancient greek gods of analingus who have until now slumbered quietly. it's clear that his homophobic caused them to rise from their peaceful slumber and shake uncontrollably, hence causing a massive earthquake and the subsequent tsunami. damn that bush, damn him to hell. oh wait, there is no hell, so damn him to idaho.
There you go again, Papa, twisting words around your forked slimey tongue. If it were really a tidal wave against homos, why did Oprah's designer survive? No one said it was Bush's fault, but you just know he is glad to have the media turned away from the mess in Iraq, at least until the "elections."
Why do you always turn things against people here? Have you ever been to Idaho? It is a beautiful state with wonderful spuds, it is the narrow minded people who live there that are rotton.
And I find your signature line totally offensive. Please changeit.
hah, you merely semi-literate mini-skirt wearing sexpot, i never inferred that the tidal wave was targetting friends of dorothy, exactly the opposite. perhaps you've been reading too many of liam's missive and have lost any and all sense of coherence. either way, this willful misreading of my earlier post calls into question any points that you make subsequently and also could cause cancer in some rodent test subjects as well as cause american flag stamps to spontaneously lose their stickiness.
i have never been to idaho, not even once, and that's more than enough for me, thank you very much. they deserve that evil tsunami inducing nepotism inclined vegetable to whom you were addressing your initial post.
as far as my signature, i have this response: f*** you and the horse you bl*w on your way in, you cheap tramp in knock off heels. figures you'd be the one to resurrect la verruso's madonna worship.
why are people so nasty on this message board (though i must say i've had a few heated arguments here myself)?
As to the actual subject of the thread, yes, of course sending Jeb to Indonesia is a political move, but who else is going to go? He's not going to send a Democrat....and i think America only promised more money because of the backlash, and rightly so. If the countries affected by this horrific disaster had anything we wanted or needed like oil or diamonds or whathaveyou, we'd have been there MUCH faster....or am i just jaded?
Jeb? Please, a political move for future possibilities. I think the Fab Five (Queer Eye guys) should have been sent instead. They can cook, decorate, culturize, and redress and groom all those unfortunate people right back into the groove.

Jeb doesn't stand a chance of being elected. He's gone through a messy divorce and one of his daughters is in rehab. The press would have a field day with him!
Yeh and I thought after all the stupid things W did the last four years he had no chance of re-election. This country is sooooo stupid all he has to do is repent from his messy past praise god and "pray" alot, push family values and he could do it. be afraid, very afraid.
