Have y'all seen this kid? He was on Leno last night and just the stuff he said boggled me. Yeah, he's smart, but he's maybe 10. Says he's a republican and compared George W Bush to Lincoln, saying how in 20 years Bush will be remembered.
I can picture myself saying "George W Bush, who?" in 20 years.
Discuss.

love him or hate him, it's safe to say that george bush's presidency will not be forgotten any time soon.

I'm starting to think that the presidency is turning into a Real World season. The cast just has to be bigger than the one before...kinda like AI's getting. Just bigger and bigger. Not better, but just more outlandish.
When can I leave?

Do you still not like me, Rath?
(and I was actually referring to America...)
So was I. Any of us are free to leave whenever we want.
He reminds me of my nephew. He says stuff like that all the time. Ugh.

I know we in this here land are conditioned to believe that we can go anywhere we want and live anywhere we want because we want to and Americans wanting things is what makes this world go round. But alas, it is not necessarily true. You can't just plop yourself down somewhere and announce you live there now. (I know this is the colonial mentality and all, but guess what, many countries really don't want us. Can you believe it? Imagine! How dare they! Don't they know who we are?)
I apologize in advance for this post reading almost PBEntian, but the coffee hasn't kicked in.
You're taking this thread a bit too seriously, Namo.
Wheresoever Rath goeth, there goeth I.

Well, Rath, I was responding to what you wrote. And what you wrote is a very common and misinformed sentiment. I didn't point out that's it's just a short slide from Archie Bunker's "America: Love it or Leave it" sentiment, just that it wasn't correct.

*laughs*. Um...I'd love to just go to France or Italy. Just live. I think it'd be fun.

No, you need to graduate from the Roman Polanski School of Relocation first.

Actually, you almost can. It really doesn't take that much to do it. Over my lifetime, so far, I've lived in London, Salzburg, Rome and Sydney. All with relative ease. Not such a big deal.
