Hamas.

Bush has inflamed Islamist hatred for the United States and Israel and made Al Qaeda more popular than ever before. It is due to Bush's ham-handed mishandling of Middle East politics that we have such angry anti-American regimes in Iran and Syria and increased anti-American resentment throughout the Muslim world.

And to think that for one moment after 9/11, we had the sympathy of the entire world. If someone else had been president then, America might have united the entire world against terrorism. Instead, Bush fostered this Orwellian state of Permanent War.

And Alito.

By replacing O'Connor's moderating voice with a far-right judicial activist, Bush is creating a state of Permanent Civil War here in the United States. After the Supreme Court overturns Roe and other laws regarding personal liberties, every state legislature and every state supreme court will be bombarded with battles over laws and lawsuits that will divide Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives for this and many generations to come.

George Bush's legacy: permanent chaos, peace never again.

PJ - I wish you could hear my son's fictional coversation with Kerry and Bush. Bush says something stupid and Kerry corrects him. (Three Democrats will be my legacy.)

I just love how eloquant he is when speaking. Especially with all the "Uh's" and "Um's" in between his big words. It was a pleasure to have to turn him off and run to the subway this morning.

Well - it was kind of funny - there was a malfunction with one of the cameras hanging above the press core that dropped from it's support and hung in front of his face - they had to remanouver the camera angle because in order to get the camera fixed they would have had to empty the room to get to it.

And on another note - how old is Helen Thomas? Poor thing was in the front row and - no disrespect, I love her to death - but she has a muppet quality about her now.

He basically wanted to pronounce his anger over Hamas winning empowerment in the election yesterday. And he used the word "terrorist Organization" in conjunction with it basically. He said he was not going into a lot of things being his state of the union is next week - or something. I lost interest after his third "Um" and turned it off.
