re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

I learned fairly early on that very little about this message board could be taken at face value. That's why I have reserved full acceptance for those few whom I have had the priveledge of meeting personally. Following that, I have tried to accept the posters that have at least some connection to those same few, even if removed by a few degrees - a 'web of acknowledgment' if you will.

I have seen that both Munk and Emcee have vouched for Liam's credibility, and am aware that quite a few posters have met both of them in person. So, I guess I'm left with wondering if there is a fairly vast conspiracy of numerous posters who are determined to pull the wool over the eyes of as many posters as possible.

I was content to remain silent on this, but when people start claiming to be me, well; it's a bit disconcerting. I am Liam!

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

DGrant,

I belong to another message board run by a friend of mine and she says that there are numerous pranksters on there with more than one identity. If you read the sincerity with which they post under different personalities, you could never guess this. We've also seen Rob's and Craig's occasional warnings about more than one identity also.

Liam's posts are harmless. I don't think he or she has any other motive other than having fun with us. But whatever personae Liam presents, I believe he or she is an adult. Maybe I'm missing the posts that Liam as a young teen would write about seeing a broadway show. I have to wonder why he doesn't try to connect with others by discussing shows. Besides the comic way of setting himself up as a joke, he also doesn't seem to discuss with anyone favorite shows, performers, etc. Why does he even frequent a broadway show based site? His adult comprehension, as Namo calls it, is a dead giveaway.

I don't know LuvTheEmcee except for her incredibly good taste in leading men. She and munkustrap may vouch for Liam's youth, but they and others may be taken in by him also.

I also think many respond to Liam's character as just that--a character. It's not a vast conspiracy, just a small one. And I have to give him credit for being funny. I'd miss him if he left here.

I love that you see the best in everyone, DGrant. It makes you one of my favorite people here. I also have to admit I have a young teen whose beginning to love the internet, and I'm hypervigilant concerning internet imposters because I worry that my son connect with the wrong person. But Liam's posts don't jive with who he says he is. His words are very consistently misspelled and his funny little messages just beg for outraged or humorous responses.

I would never hurt a child's feelings. If I weren't so confident that he is not a child, I wouldn't post this.

You guys are incredible. What the hell?

If you go to the myspace BWW group, Liam's there. He's got friends his age who've posted comments. Munk is in a show with him. Get over it.

It sort of seems difficult next to impossible to fake all the pictures, especially the ones in Ireland...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

Pal Joey, as someone who has never met Liam and knows absolutely nothing about him, who are you to say that his misspelling is fake? And, if Liam's spelling IS fake, why would I constantly defend him on this board? Obviously, I'm getting nothing out of it.

I know you work with children with learning disabilities and you seem to INSIST that Liam is masquerading as someone who can't spell. I just don't understand why you refuse to accept the fact that Liam is, in fact, real AND (yes, AND) has trouble spelling. You think his "masquerading" as someone who can't spell is "disrespectful" to kids with actual spelling issues. Okay, maybe you have a point - but there is NO evidence of Liam faking his misspelling on this board - you are just so convinced that you're right and EVERYONE else is wrong - and I don't know where that comes from, but it's about time you stepped off your high horse and realized that you're 100% incorrect. If you really do work in that field and claim to know as much about is as you do, one would think that you would realize that he's not a fake. What if one of your "ld" children was constantly told that they're so stupid, or that they're spelling is so bad - that they can only be an impostor - because essentially, that is what you're implying. That's not a very good message to be sending to the children - and imagine how high you must be boosting up Liam's self esteem! Way to go!

And wink, I have no idea where you came from, but your Liam theories are completely incorrect, and you sound like an idiot for even suggesting such a thing.

Liam's older brother Brian graduated High school with me. Liam's father was my baseball coach. Liam and his sister Devin (queenoffrance) were just in a musical revue in Monroe, NY entitled "PLAY IT AGAIN" that I musically directed. Would you like me to list the songs they performed? Would you like me to tell you where Liam lives so you can send him a letter or something?

You people are CRACKING me up at all your different Liam theories. They're all wrong! Liam is an absolute real person. I offered to take pictures of him and I tonight so we could post them and you can all see how foolish you are. Really, this has got to stop.

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

I'm so f*cking sick of this crap y'all give poor Liam all the time.

I know that a good number of those questioning this situation don't like Munkustrap and don't believe what he says, but I do sincerely hope that many of you would trust me enough to take my word, or at least to consider it for truth.

Munkustrap and I went to high school together; Liam's older brother DID graduate in his class, the year before I graduated. Liam's older sister is friends with my brother, and an old friend of mine lives next door to Liam's family. I've met both of his siblings on multiple occasions. Munkustrap IS doing musical direction for the show Liam is in, like he says. Liam's not lying, he is really a kid who has a problem that prevents him from spelling correctly. I find it hard to believe that so many of you are dense enough to think that just because this child has the ability to be smart and clever, while still often spelling incorrectly, means that he's masquerading as something he's not.

You all really need to get over yourselves and stop picking on this kid. It's sick.

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

I'm terribly dismayed that so many people would read a thread entitled: Private Message for Liam (No One Else should Read This).

I feel like my privacy has been invaded.

I know nothing about the kid's identity-- BUT I can vouch for the fact that if Emcee is saying that he is a "real boy" then it's true. I know that she isn't into the internet role-playing BS that some people here enjoy. I have met her and can attest to what I believe to be her absolute credibility, even though I feel as if her behavior on these boards should have earned her such credibility on this site anyway.

All of you vagabonds have totally ignored my directive not to read this thread. I feel like you've all rifled through my underwear drawer and are now airing my tighty whities in cyberspace.

Liam, on the other hand, had cooperated and has not posted on this thread because I initiated it.

I'm so upset I have to nurse a can of Diet Coke With Lime. It's "divine" you know!

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

He's a little too young to be on a adult-themed message board, don't you think?

So now I'll just change the way I think of Liam. Instead of an adult, he's a precocious real boy who apparently who is sly enough to initiate such humorous little posts about homosexuality and getting veneral diseases from body piercings.

And LuvTheEmcee, I remember you "picking" on broadwayguy in a most cruel way. Don't throw things from your glass house.

re: Private Message to Liam (No One Else Should Read This)

PalJoey, don't bust my chops. I'm telling you what I know, which unfortunately not Liam's entire medical history.

wink - perhaps thirteen or fourteen is a bit too young for some of the things that go on here, but Liam's age and validity are two separate issues. If you're concerned about his age, you must be believing this, at least a bit. And don't drag other problems into this. Like you said, you don't know very much about me. So, since that is the case, you're probably unaware of the fact that I wouldn't needlessly pick on someone who hasn't done something to hurt me first. And honestly, this situation is nothing like what happened between broadwayguy2 and I. People pick on Liam because they feel they can't trust him, and honestly, because they can pick on him. He's a child - he'll play along for a long time before he sees through it and is offended. A lot of people on here don't give a damn who they offend. Broadwayguy2 picked on me because of my taste in leading men. Perhaps the fact that the "picking on" was incessant and unnecessary would create a similarity, but really, that's a pretty damned big stretch. I never said anyone was picking on me. I never once defended myself on this thread, until you turned it into something in which I was required to do so. I never attacked or was "cruel" to anyone. I'm trying to stand up for Liam, and you're telling me what, with this exactly? That it's invalid because I've had a ongoing fight with someone? That I shouldn't say people are wrong because I haven't absolutely always been completely and totally nice to every single individual on this board? That I can only say you aren't allowed to pick on others if I've never done so myself? That's absurd. Now that's two completely useless things you've tried to pull against my argument. You want cruel? Honey, look elsewhere. Not from me unless provoked, which would be defense, not overt cruelty. Am I being "cruel" by stating what I know to be truth and saying that this is all painfully ridiculous? Am I living in a glass house by nearly pleading with people to believe me? My sincerest apologies.
