Anyone seen it yet?
I formulated a theory during QUANTUM OF SOLACE:
- Bond movies are the one constant in life. They will remain the same no matter what else is going on in your life. You can count on them. They will never let you down. The actors may change, yes, but Bond films are not about acting. They're about kicking ass and getting laid. DIE ANOTHER DAY was the anomaly, yes, but Bond movies are always the same movie. Slightly different plan, slightly different stunts, but the actual content is the same thing.
So, in other words, QUANTUM OF SOLACE was good. I don't know why people call it a let-down because it's the exact same movie as the others. The action scenes were decent, considering they were directed by the man behind FINDING NEVERLAND. The editing was, indeed, odd at times but it never bothered me because I was not only watching QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but also CASINO ROYALE and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. Daniel Craig continues to excel in this role, interpreting Bond as a sociopathic killer. The one thing that sets this one slightly (But only slightly) from the rest is that Bond is slightly (But only slightly) angrier than he is in previous ones because he is an avenging angel.
But why am I going on and on when you know what a Bond film entails? Bond movies are a comfy teddy bear with a cup of hot chocolate.

I thought Quantum of Solace was absolutely wonderful. It was the complete anti-Casino Royale, whereas Casino was very gritty and full of realism, I found Quantum to be very post-modern/modern and somewhat abstract. In short, I loved it from beginning to end, and even loved the theme song!
Hoorah!
I'm glad to hear that, BNN. I refuse to listen to the bad early reviews, because I love Daniel Craig and Bond too much. I'd probably love it no matter what.
I liked it. Not as much as Casino Royale, but it was still Bond in all his glory.
Can anyone tell me what that piece of music (from Tosca) was from the opera scene?
Also, does anyone else think that René Mathis looks(ed) like Sondheim a little bit?
I thought it was good as well...I did like Casino Royale better but it was still good...a little disappointed that there was only one shirtless scene btu Daniel Craig is becoming my favorite Bond and Dame Judi Dench is awesome
