Hey everyone, i wanted to ask all of you if, for example, if you want to perform a monologue for a conservatory audition but you want to do it your way, not the way is supposed to be performed, like give it another way of interpretation, knowing that they play goes totally the other way, what i am trying to say is, if the monologue is dramatic, can you change it to comedy? would it be acceptable? or do you have to stick with the original performance, the way it was written? Please leave comments

Yes! As long as you don't change the words, they like to see creativity.

Definately! In a lot of audition notices I've seen, it has stressed the importance of your interpretation. Unless it specifically says to stay within the context of the play, I'd say go for it! Good luck!
