I know that this isn't the student board, but I'm registering for classes at midnight tonight and I am planning on transfering out of my school after this year, but wanna know about college credits transfering first.
What kind of classes do and don't transfer?
Is it really dependent on the school you attended and the school you are transfering to?
Here are my courses this semester
-intro to philosophy
-history of jazz
-english 1
-acting workshop
-some BS 1 cred intro to my univ class
-linear math (way too easy...)
Next semester
-English 2
-Calc 1
-Astrobiology and the search for extraterrestrial life (haha, it's some special freshmen only course, it sounded interesting)
-other courses... not sure yet, thinking of that now.
So yea, I need help here.
I'm trying to transfer to a school with both architecture and engineering. (my school doens't have architecture
although I originally wanted to be some type of business major, but realized that isn't what I want to do)
So help, I'd appreciate it.

Posted: 11/14/05 at 12:32amIt TOTALLY depends on the school. There's no way anyone here could answer that. You will have to call the office of admissions.

Posted: 11/14/05 at 12:37ami transferred two years ago. i found that while almost all of my CREDIT transferred, some of my exact classes did not...for example, my history gen eds from my first school didn't match up enough with the history gen eds for my second school, so while i got the actual CREDIT, i had to retake history classes. so basically i'll be graduating with a baJILLION credits, but just enough actual classes.

Posted: 11/15/05 at 12:23amMake sure you save all your assignments, reading lists, papers with your professors' comments and grades on them, tests, class notes, all that stuff, because sometimes you need them when applying for transfer credit. I needed to turn all of that stuff in when trying to wrangle some credit from my school for a class I took at Cornell. Departments can be really tough sometimes and the more evidence you have showing that you did quality work the better your chances of getting credit are.
