Does anyone on here use transition lenses? I am thinking about getting them and I am still undecided. My mom had them when I was a kid and they didn't work so well. I know that was a long time ago, but it still sticks with me. I want a pair of sunglasses, but my insurance won't pay for them, so I am thinking that the transition lenses would be a good way to go. Any opinions, advice, etc....
I have yet to hear positive reviews about them from people who use them - like you said, though, that was from a few years back. However, I do know that in many eye centers, the lenses are more expensive than just getting a pair of prescription sunglasses.
I LOVE mine.....and they are NOT more expensive than getting two whole pair of glasses. I get a pair every year with transition, and a pair of sunglasses.....why you ask?
Transition lense do not work above like 95 degrees. Once it reaches 92-95, they do not get dark....and here that happens often, so I get both.
I've been getting transition lenses for years.
i think the problem is most people do not follow directions, ie when you get them, you put them in your freezer for 45 minutes, and then you take them and leave them in the sun for another 45, as this "sets" them.
If you do not do that, they never get real dark.
Anyway, I wouldn't live without mine
Thanks Elphie! I have been reading up on them, but I really wanted the opinion of someone who has had them before.
I used to have Transition lens and got annoyed with them because it wouldn't transition back to normal fast enough for me, and sometimes it would stay a little tinted when I didn't want it to be.
