Can anyone recommend a good florist? I need to send a gift. Somewhere that's not excessively pricey, but that will still do nice work. I've basically been shooting in the dark on Google, looking up reviews on Yelp, etc., but I'd feel better about something that comes personally recommended.

(Or, conversely, any places you've had bad experiences with and would avoid?)

Thanks.

Where in LA?

I have had good luck with Blossoms and Sada's in West LA/CC area.

Thank you! Need to send to the downtown area (I do not know LA geography for anything). I've been poking around on Yelp but recommendations are super helpful.

My experiences would have been approx 4 years ago, so assuming that all standards remained the same/places still in business...

Suzane Le May. Always my favorite when I lived in L.A. Can not recommend enough. I once placed an order that was literally "our budget is between $50-75, and her favorite color is pink," (because we had no idea what to order), and the arrangement was so gorgeous. And the couple of times I was lucky enough to receive arrangements, all were amazing.

Also: The Empty Vase, Flowers by Michael, Rita Flora; I remember them all being widely used/recommended.

Thank you! I'll look into those, particularly the one with such a glowing recommendation! Just to be sure, is this the same one? http://www.yelp.com/biz/les-sculptures-vivantes-los-angeles

to be honest I don't remember ever hearing that store name, we only ever referred to Suzane Le May, but that looks about right... ha I love that the reviewer ordered an arrangement with "red," sounds like my "pink" story!
