Did anyone catch the 2 hour Series Finale tonight? What did you think? I would have rather had another season of Everwood than another of 7th Heaven. Spoilers Below.

SPOILERS
Did you think it was too contrived? Too happily ever after? Why did they make Hannah into a stupid little girl who gives up a good future to be with an idiot who cheated on her?

I think people were expecting the "happily ever after" ending for this show. Because the news that the show was being cancelled was pretty abrupt, I think they were giving us a treat by tying everything up. Obviously everyone wanted the Abbots to get a baby, and the couples to end up together (Andy/Nina, Ephram/Amy, Bright/Hannah). Yeah, it was VERY contrived, and I didn't think the finale had much substance, but it made me happy(I wish they had done a little more of this for Will & Grace). I'll miss this show sooo much!

There's a petition going around on the WB website for the network to pick up the show again...so, maybe they'll do a mid-season thing (Hopefully!)

I was pretty happy that it was 2 hours of acting and only like 2 minutes of flashback. Some other shows ruin their finales with too much flashback.

That cough joke never gets old. No really, after a billion times, it's still so clever and funny. Honestly. And when it's typed, it's even funnier.

It was a great finale, but the show ended too soon. There really was no viable reason to keep Seventh Heaven going. The show ran its course. Everwood did not.

So all the couples did end up together? Wow.
I watched this show all the time but kind of fell out when Madison had a baby and put it up for adoption or something. Stuff was getting crazy!
Maybe I'll get it on DVD sometime, though. It started out as a great show. Good writing.

I don't think Hannah chose to stay local JUST to be near Bright. Amy was her best (and only other) friend. Going to Notre Dame would mean starting over in a place where she knew NOBODY.

And sad to say, only the first season is on DVD, and there are no plans to release seasons 2 through 4.

I'm glad Delia finally got that horse.

I liked how it ended. Nina and Andy were meant to happen as were Ephram/Amy.

HAnnah had to start her life all over with no one before and I think she just didn't want to do it again. There was that Australian guy, remember, and she is finally making friends and feels like she belongs. She doesn't want to lose that

i was really happy with how it all ended!

7th Heaven ran for so many seasons. The WB based their decision on all the millions of people that tuned in for the season finale. When they decided to keep 7th Heaven, they dropped Everwood. At the time, they filmed to different endings to Everwood, one in case it was renewed and the other, in case it went off the air. I think if it was renewed Madison was supposed to come back. I was happy with the season finale. Everything was as it should be.
