Why was it deleted? I thought Phyllis made some good points, as did Reginald. I was enjoying following the convo, even if I didn't have anything to add.
It wasn't deleted.

It's marked for deletion. I thought it was a decent discussion, too, which is why I was prepping this thread.
If PalJoey has an issue with watching hot shirtless 17 (and maybe older, maybe younger) year olds dance around, then that's on him. I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm not aroused by them - therefore, it isn't "porn". (that's my own definition.)
I read the last page of the conversation, and I have to say that I don't find anything offensive by them using "faggot" in the video. I didn't even know that they said it until I read it here. I heard it when I watched the video a second time.
If you're offended by the word, then be offended by it in all cases. You can't pick and choose what offends you. If you can, then it's not that offensive.

Heh. It never really caught fire once we changed venues.
Twas a wonderful conversation, PRS and Reg.
Bravissimo (as in Bravo to you both).

"Heh. It never really caught fire once we changed venues."
We've heard that before!
I really wish you guys would stop it with the anti-gina menopause barefoot-and-pregnant comments.
Biff, I think context is very important. But then I also refuse to see the world as black or white.
Of course context is important, but how much of an issue is it if you can say, "I only like some things some of the time."
I hate raw onions, but I love them when they're sauted, and served on a Philly cheese sandwich with green peppers.
So clearly, I dislike the use of the word "faggot" when the motivation is as such in said video. However, it doesn't bother me in Shane Dawson's videos because the use is completely different in intention.
Just like your onions.
It's an issue (to me) when it's used to spread hate. It's not (to me) when it's used satirically to hold a mirror to society or to "reclaim the word".
It's the same back and forth argument as the one on the n word. I am merely expressing my views on the word. I am not demanding that anyone agree with me.

If you don't like onions, don't like them in all cases. You can't pick and choose how you like or dislike them. If you can, then you don't not like them.
~ but if the raw onions are sauteéd then they are no longer raw now are they? they ceased to be raw once they hit that frying pan.

You just contradicted yourself. You use the "n word" with good intentions, but not in the stated post? What? Now I'm confused.
I have no idea what your point is.
the word FAGGOT is an ugly, nasty, hateful word. it use should not be justified in any context.
And that is your opinion. For the record, I don't go around using the word. But it is in the video below (minus the 'got'). And I won't apologize for using it.
~ the word n* is another nasty, hateful word. it's use should not be justified in any context.
~ this "reclaim the word" business is utter BULLSH!T. the word is offensive.
So, for example, Sondheim should not have had Booth utter it in "Assassins"?
Actually I take that back. If the words are being used in a historical context, for example to explain their unfortunate origins then that's okay. These type of words shouldn't be casually used for "fun". They are offensive.
