I'm afraid this will evaporate one way or another because it simply won't play as a scandal to the Republican base. It will be spun to suggest Palin was just being protective and a good relative, not an overzealous fascist. It isn't a sexy story because the issues at its core are (too much) loyalty and the use of position to go after a questionable party. I saw the trooper interviewed -- alas, he doesn't make a persuasive case. I think we shouldn't count on this bringing her down. People aren't even upset about her obscene use of per diem expenses -- can you imagine the same behavior in a Democrat being ignored?
Frankly -- please no lectures about hands off her family -- I knew we would have a tough fight when her Evangelica base immediately embraced her pregnant daughter and saw no connection between the hyopocrisy of public policy and private shame. Watch, she'll still advocate abstinance, they will cheer her, and she'll be seen as a moral arbiter.
The only thing that will eventually reveal this unworthy candidate will be a powerful display of ignorance, and what I alone predict: a bad rapport with the man who picked her. I honestly believe John McCain has no feeling for this woman, and probably now resents her attention. He is perceived as the old white man attached to her -- the man who 'launched' Pallin, rather than the main event himself.
Stay tuned. This is truly a shotgun marriage, too.

Well, then so did John McCain when he used the phrase twice referencing Hilary.
GOP kool-aid drinkers should at least try for intelligent support of their choice, and not these lame non-issues.
