I have complained for several months about the lack of rain in Chicago. We just had a great shower.

Is it dry where you are?

Did it rain? I only got thunder and lightning as far as I know.

Aigoo, that is the story of the Summer, it rains somewhere but not everywhere.

When do you leave for school?

Why thank you! I'm sort of intimidated by my classes, but I'm actually looking forward for school to start this year.

No rain in the Pacific NW. Then again, August is our driest month.

Rain would be wonderful... send some just a little west of you, brd.

It's dry now, but we had the loudest storm of the summer a week or so ago.

I like rain, but not when it keeps me up.

I love sleeping to a thunderstorm. One of the things I miss about the east coast. We don't get them that often around here.

If you were here, you would love the sound of rain!

Not too fond of the sound of thunder though...

Thank God it rained. The grass on my lawn was looking like hay.

We had what I call a 'Michigan" storm here tonight

Michigan could use a good rain - the parts of the UP that aren't already burning are tinder box dry and suburban Detroit had another huge industrial fire tonight that the fire departments couldn't even get close to.

There was more promise than delivery. Big winds, loud thunder and a few cracks of lightening, and a shower that dribbled off pretty quickly. What we need is a big kick-ass drenching.

I woke up last night, puzzled by a strange sound. I had to think a while before I recognized it as rain! I don't think it rained much by me as the pavement was dry when I got up. It was humid however! WAS it ever!

The weatherman last night said we'd need to get 5 1/2 inches to end the drought. I know there is a joke in there somewhere, but I'm too parched to make it.

Funny, I finally broke down and watered my lawn last night because it was getting so dry, and I wake up this morning and it's raining (I'm in mid-Michigan)

Let's hear it for hot rain.... Humidity sucks.

Anybody know what the weather will be like later this week? I'll be in Chicago on Friday night.

Friday, probably, low to mid 80's. It'll say it's gonna rain or thunderstorm, but what they REALY mean by that is a few sprinkles.

There was lightning last night, but it only rained a bit by me (Western burbs) by the time I woke up. It's been a beautiful day in the Loop. At least it was at lunchtime!

This is the National Weather Service and this link should take you to a page that has a northern Illinois map where you can click on Chicago. You will get a page with a 7 day forecast. If you somehow get redirected to a Marine (lake) report(it happens sometimes), there is a search on the left hand side, just type in Chicago, Il.

To answer your question re: Rain in Chicago , Fri & Sat show highs of 83, Sunday 81. Chance of showers Fri and Sat nights. Looks like a gorgeous weekend.

Have any fun plans for while you are here in The Windy City, The City of Big Shoulders, The City of Neighborhoods.....
