He pulled his own friggin' name off that ballot in a cynical gesture to suck up to the Iowa Dems who insisted being first.

Obama took his name off that ballot in a sleazy backroom deal that STINKS of the Old Politics he claims to eschew.

He took his name off the ballot and it was highly-publicized; it's hardly a "sleazy backroom deal" when it's being discussed on the 24-news networks. Everyone else had accepted Michigan and Florida weren't following the rules and therefore the primary was invalid, so there's also all the millions of voters that didn't even bother to vote. If this were truly out of concern for the disenfranchised voters (and not solely to give Clinton the delegates), they would have solved the problem *before* the vote took place.

What gives Iowa the right to be "first" anyway?

And why should their stupid need to be first trump the rights of millions of voters in two other states?

Because the Democratic Party told Iowa they could go first, well in advance of the primary dates, and Florida and Michigan still went against the long-established rules. The states screwed over the disenfranchised voters, not the party.

How is it a lie? It's not like she has the ultimate say over what the DNC does.

Was it a lie when Obama said he was going to fulfill his obligation to the senate?

Was it a lie when Hillary said she landed in Bosnia under sniper fire? re: Rallies in DC and Throughout Florida Saturday to Protest Disenfranchise It goes both ways and it's petty to pick apart the honesty of every single statement they've made in their career, because that isn't the issue at hand.

You have "no interest" in it because it doesn't fit with your cherished story that everything he does is perfect.

And you have no interest in the fairness of the primaries because it doesn't fit with your story that Hillary legally won all those delegates.

Orangeskittles, yes, that was a lie. Her comment about the election isn't.

It's going to turn out that she can take Florida and Michigan and still lose the popular vote and delegate count. Thats what the math says to me.

Then what PJ?

Her only arugment (to the superdelegates) left is that she is more electable than Obama and she has only proved that she squandered away a nice lead going into to this by a black man with the middle name Hussein and crazy preacher problems.

PJ your blind loyalty to your flawed candidate would be endearing if it wasn't so misguided. Hillary Clinton agreed with the "cold, calculating Old School political choice" and then put her name on the ballot anyway.

If a Republican did that you would never stop bitching about it. In fact, if Obama did it you'd never stop bitching about it. In fact, if PATTI LUPONE did it you'd never stop bitching about it. But here, it's just one more thing that queen Hillary is entitled to. Rewrite the rules, lie, destroy the Democrats best chance to take the leadership in this poor country- Queen Hillary the entitled can do that because DAMN IT, SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PRESIDENT!

I wonder why people have this crazy image that she's a lying manipulative vicous dishonest untrustworthy shrew? She's clearly just a poor innocent blossom, broken on the wheel, who is trying to take the presidency by any means necessary because IT BELONGS TO >HER<, DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW, GET ON YOUR GOD DAMN KNEES AND WORSHIP HER!!!

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"How is it a lie? It's not like she has the ultimate say over what the DNC does."

You can read I assume, so I wonder why you didn't.

"It's clear, this election they're having is not going to count for anything" --Hillary Clinton

How else is that to be interpreted? She said nothing about the DNC but rather her own assessment of the primaries.

It's still not a lie. That's all I'm saying. I never said she doesn't lie. I never said she wasn't a politician like the rest of them, including Obama, who also lies.

Every four years, we have a primary. Usually lots of people run and most of them lose. John McCain ran in 2000 and lost to George Bush. He smiled, came to the convention and got his picture took with the nominee.

Now 8 years later, he's gonna be president. That's how it works.

Hillary Clinton ran and lost. That's got to be tough. But you go home, break a lamp, and smile for the cameras. You take a cabinet job, and you run again in a few years and hope you're the one waving while everyone stand around praising you.

Look at John Edwards. That's how you lose a nomination without destroying your party or your own career.

Let's be honest...they're all just being politicians. NO ONE cares about folks in Mich and Fla being disenfranchised. If they did, they would have taken up the cause long before it was politically advantageous. And if the situation were reversed, I'm certain that Obama camp would be making every effort to get those votes included, and Clinton would be working to live with the rules.

"Don't be silly" isn't an answer.

A lie is when someone doesn't tell the truth, right?

So was she not telling the truth when she said they wouldn't count?

That's a bullsh!t question because the answer is obvious but distasteful to her supporters: She had no idea that she would have to fight so much for the nomination and never anticipated needing those votes to win the nomination.

Now that she feels she needs those votes to bolster her cause, she wants them counted, despite her original assumption that they wouldn't matter.

LIE, perhaps too strong a word--hypocritical, without a doubt.

In the meantime western news outlets reported earlier that US contract killers fire shots an undescribed Iranian boat an account which the Iranian state press apparatus now denies.

Furthermore, the WaPo is beating the war drum into the ground with a Pentagon proganda piece indicating that the Pentagon is planning for potential military courses of action against Iran, which really is a routine activity.

Ordinarily, I'd dismiss this as typical saberrattling but the timing seems calculated. Dems are mainly distracted by the Hillary-Barack Afterschool Special while McCain is being fitted for his Commander-in-Chief raiment.
Iran, you've been warned AGAIN!

no one expected we would need every vote to know who should be the nominee. Everyone figured that it would be status quo--we'd know by new Hampshire or super Tuesday.

I never liked the idea of leaving voters out because of silly, pointless rules.

But **** all that, there was an opportunity to right the wrong and have fair revotes in both states and dammit if Barack Obama didnt **** that up.

And you all said, "well can you blame him? Its in his interest to not have a revote." well then he's politics as usual. His winning at the expense of voters is more important than all the hope and pretty speeches.

And what you have now is the fact that superdelegates will have those states in their minds as belonging to Clinton when he might have taken one or both states or at least closed the gaps.

I could be fine with obama as nominee, but as Auggie suggested, its all tainted.
