Rape, Hate Crime Charges In Attack On Gay Man

This guy is going to jail for a long time. If he hates gays now, man he is REALLY gonna ahte them once he gets to prison!

Cicero, Illinois) An Illinois man has been charged with sexual assault and a hate crime in an attack on a gay man.

Police in Cicero, southwest of Chicago, say that Filipe Rivera, 43, confessed in a videotaped interview with detectives.

Rivera is alleged to have told police that he hates gays and the victim got what he deserved after coming on to him.

Police said that the two men were at a party earlier in the evening and that the victim had offered Rivera $50 for sex. After causing a disturbance Rivera was asked to leave the party but allegedly waited out of site for the victim to leave and followed him home.

The victim was attacked as he entered the building. He was beaten and then raped with a metal broom handle

A hate crime only gets you 5 years? WTF?

And it doesn't say he was convicted. There's going to be at least one guy in that jury who feels the same way (Rivera) does.

Whats sick is the artcile says "He COULD get up to 30 years" which means he'll do a few years,get some counseling, be out of jail and more than likely do the same thing again. This guy is proud of what he did. He feels he is some kind of warrior or that he did something positive.Its very telling that his own mother had a restraining order against him. Whats sad is there are WAY too many guys like this out there.

In cases like this, I think he should be thrown out into the Castro during the Bear Pride party and see what happens.

I'll bet you anything there will be a conservative somewhere in the court who is sympathetic to this guy. The defense will play it all that it was the victims fault. He tried to pay him to have sex. The accused snapped in self defense and followed the man home and attacked in fear the victim would come to the accused house, break in, and rape him. Therefore, the accused acted in self defense.We all know how this will play out. It disgusts me beyond words.
