Recommend some music! (please)

Hey guys! I'm just now realizing that there is so much more music out there than what's in the charts...recently I was lent a CD named Get Away From Me by a great singer called Nellie McKay and it was totally brilliant...like Norah Jones, except good - really clever lyrics and great melodies. I'd recommend it to anyone...
now it's your turn!

I second Darren Hayes. also I have been obsessing over Russell Watson, Peter Cincotti, Josh Groban (sigh), Matt Dusk, and Michael Buble recently. Oh my. *goes to search for afore mentioned cds*
"Applause begets applause in the theatre, as laughter begets laughter and tears beget tears." CLAYTON HAMILTON, "Theory of the Theatre" "I think theater ought to be theatrical ... you know, shuffling the pack in different ways so that it's -- there's always some kind of ambush involved in the experience. You're being ambushed by an unexpected word, or by an elephant falling out of the cupboard, whatever it is." TOM STOPPARD

Katy Pfaffl is brilliant. The tone of her voice is just so beautiful and soothing. The song "Not My Home" is a favorite of mine. You can download it on her site, as well as "Over and Over", another fav.

Jill Scott and The Finn Brothers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Rufus Wainwright (Basically an edgier, gayer, more talented version of John Mayer. Look into his original songs and also his covers, which range from Jeff Buckley to Hedwig...they're brilliant.)

Jesse Sykes (Folk with a bit of jazzy soul in the mix. Perfect for just chilling out. I fall asleep to her every night.)

Placebo (Some of the absolute COOLEST music you will ever listen to. Extremely eclectic and indescribable. Not for everyone. If you're into David Bowie or any 70s glam rock, then you will love Placebo.)

Gavin DeGraw (Some of the most romantic songs I've ever heard, very clever lyrics, and a great voice. I saw him in concert and he was FANTASTIC. Don't judge just because his one song is on that WB show...it doesn't do him justice.)

Toxic Audio!!! They use no instruments--all the sounds are made with their voice--they have sound clips on their site.
