I'm looking for any recommendations on some great record stores in the NY area that sell new and used vinyl. Any suggestions? I would appreciate it! Thanks!

the COLONY . An institution, but kinda pricey, but they have practically everything! 49th/Bway. Vinyl, sheet music, R & R memorabilia, etc.
My personal fave haunts, though are the various NYC flea markets, major, like 39th St, or Brooklyn Flea, or just local small street fairs - or homeless guys selling all kinds of crap on the street. You would not believe what you can find. A Lot of retro vinyls.
