Illinois - all the previously stated (except I may disagree with Southern); Illinois Wesleyan has a solid program and is really close to Illinois State.; I have to put a plug in for Bradley University, though, cause they pay me to recruit people! It's in Peoria, so it's almost exactly halfway between Chicago and St. Louis. Small program with tons of opportunity. And it's program has just been kind of re-done because of our new NAST accredidation and some new tenure-track faculty lines.

And I agree: defintely, absolutely, U of I.

TEXAS:

I am actually from florida but go to school in Texas, and the reason is becasue of the theatre program at BAYLOR UNIVERSITY.

I love the program it is so great... but its as private school so its pricey. Marin Mazzie is coming in august to do a workshop with us. We have robert duvall coming in september, just for some examples of how well connected we are.

Email me if you want more info.

Upcoming Shows: Gypsy, Dead Mans Cell Phone, Xanadu, Sunday in the Park with George

Michigan

Wayne State University in Detroit has a pretty well respected graduate theatre program.
