Apparently, despite a report from the Sentate Intelligence Committee to the contrary, Secretary of State Condoleezza cannot admit she, or the Administration was wrong. The first step in getting help is admitting you have a problem, on in this case, wrong:
Rice stands by claims of Al-Qaeda-Saddam links:
WASHINGTON (AFP) - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice insisted that Al-Qaeda operatives in Iraq were developing weapons of mass destruction prior to the ousting of Saddam Hussein.
Rice, giving a series of interviews ahead of the fifth anniversary of the September 11 Al-Qaeda attacks on the United States, brushed aside a recently released US intelligence report saying there was no evidence Saddam's regime was helping Al-Qaeda obtain such arms.
"There were ties between Iraq and Al-Qaeda," she said on Fox News Sunday.
Rice specifically linked Al-Qaeda's presumed leader in Iraq at the time, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, to the effort to develop chemical arms.
"We know that Zarqawi was running a poison network in Iraq," she said, reaffirming statements made by President George W. Bush and herself prior to the March 2003 invasion of Iraq linking Baghdad with Osama bin Laden's group.
Rice stood by the claim Sunday despite a February 2002 report from the Defense Department's intelligence arm which was just released by a Senate Committee and stated that Iraq as "unlikely to have provided Bin Laden any useful (chemical or biological) knowledge or assistance."
"That particular report I don't remember seeing," Rice said when asked if she and Bush had not ignored the assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Today we have a two-fer - last time I looked, FEMA was part of homeland security, and where is the protection of our ports, chemical plants, nuclear plants, and cargo in planes? Are we going to even discuss our porous borders? Sounds like a similar phrase from last, year . . Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job:
"The government has done "a helluva job" guarding America, Vice President Dick Cheney said on Sunday, as President George W. Bush prepared to visit Ground Zero amid an election-year debate on whether the country is safer five years after the September 11 attacks.
Cheney and other top administration officials sought on the eve of the anniversary to promote what they say is progress in protecting against a second Sept 11.
Democrats countered that the administration had used the attacks for political gain, underlining the bitter divisions that have emerged since the attacks on New York and Washington killed nearly 3,000 people and united the nation in grief.
"I don't know how you can explain five years of no attacks, five years of successful disruption of attacks, five years of defeating the efforts of al Qaeda to come back and kill more Americans. You have got to give some credence to the notion that maybe somebody did something right," Cheney told NBC's "Meet the Press."
He added: "We've done a helluva job here at home in terms of homeland security."
But many Americans have doubts. ABC News said a poll it conducted found the number of Americans who think the country is safer now than four years ago had dropped to about 52 percent from around 88 percent previously."
And since Clinton had about 8 years of no terrorist attacks (between WT1 and WT2) on the US by Al Qaeda, does that mean by default he was also doing a helluva job?
