The Bush fires are spreading to the GOP. Just like with Nixon...

Once he loses his Republican support in Congress, there will be congressional investigations, risignations, firings and impeachment.

Snippet from Jennifer Loven's AP article:

---

Some are calling for bold strokes — a broad new agenda, a purging of the president's tired and perhaps overly insular and loyal staff — to jolt the White House past its troubles.

A former White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the official still provides regular advice, said Bush needs "moves of conscience and conviction" that evoke the leadership abilities that helped get him re-elected.

Some Republicans inside and outside the White House were angered by Bush's handling of Libby's exit. They viewed it as a missed opportunity to restore badly needed credibility because the president neither condemned the aide's actions nor acknowledged that White House spokesman Scott McClellan had said categorically in 2003 that Libby was not involved in the leak.

Bush and his aides considered the political benefits of such statements, according to a senior administration official, who spoke confidentially so as to not be seen discussing internal deliberations. But the idea was rejected out of concern the president's words could influence the legal process. Bush instead merely called the charges "serious" and urged against a rush to judgment. He and Cheney both praised Libby for his public service.

Democrats, though, indicated they will not let people forget that Bush campaigned in 2000 on a promise to "restore honor and dignity" to a White House sullied by Clinton-era scandals.

Heh. So, by Clinton-era scandals, he just meant that none of his administration would be involved in sexual scandals because they sure as hell replaced them with even better ones.

Yep, but I just tuned in to CNN long enough to catch Arlen Spector backpeddling faster than the speed of light. Have I mentioned lately just how much I dislike him?

Oh, boy. They're parading the troops of good ol' boys on the Sunday morning shows... Alexander Haig is boohooing about how this is just a political witch hunt. And the leak, of course, was no big thing.

Asshole.

As far as I'm concerned, no one who ever contributed to torturing the country with Monica-Gate has the right to utter a single syllable of "It's not fair.." in the current situation.

lol, iflit! Sounds like it might be time to post that picture of the crybaby.

You'd think the GOP would remember the Golden Rule and realize that in addition to being treated as they have treated others, matters of national security are hardly equivocal to sex in the Oval Office.

In their eyes, the use of any body part for anything involving pleasure is morally equivalent for treason and compromising national security.

Look, if you were meant to enjoy any part of your body for physical pleasure, the good Lord would not have invented hard liquor so you could sublimate all such urges.

I love Jews. And Jewish men are so freakin cute. :)

All I knows is--we need something new in the Oval Office than another white, Christian male.

Awww, leave Georgy boy alone. He's a super-amusing bloke, especially with those 'Bushisms'. Also, it seems like a war against the Iranians is coming. That'll make the news interesting again. I think he should change the constitution and rule for a third term, if not indefinitely.

Thanks, LondonBoy. Over here, we think Elizabeth should lock Phillip in the Tower and declare his children bastards.

London Boy,

How's this - you can have Bush, if you give us Tony Blair. At least he sounds pretty when he speaks.

Wow. it would be nice to have a leader that can speak in complete sentences.
