Restaurants in East Village

Hi all,

Going to the Bowery Ballroom on Saturday night...anyone know any good cheap funky places to eat near there? I only know midtown restaurants!

If you like Louisiana Cajun/Creole, you might want to try Mara's Homemade. I highly recommend it!

I thought Mara's closed? If not, I strongly second it, even though it is tiny and crowded. One and One (on the corner of 1st and 1st) has a great fish 'n' chips, and on 2nd st just off of 2nd ave is a sweet little Russian joint call Anyway Cafe. East Sixth street has a ton of Indian restaurants. and there's still Dojo's (I think) on St Mark's place.
