i serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.

everyone thinks they are getting what they really want, but no one really knows what they will get. when they don't get what they thought they were going to get, they get angry. but by that time the blank slate doesn't really give a flying fig because, duh, he's the president.
