I used to stare at this album cover in the record store. Not because of the yellow sateen, but because of the manly fur. Before the gays conned the world into believing men must shave, wax and pluck.

DG, TOO funny........I also like his youngest son, the non-blond......watched the PBS special on Ricky last night, the talk with his kids, and that youngest son is hot and damn, can that boy sign!

Posted: 7/2/06 at 11:12amWell, by college, Nelson had had their day and were "writing music" in Nashville. They did a lot of Writers Nights at places like the Bluebird Cafe. They would be with some really talented songwriters. They would all sing the hits they had written together and then a few new songs. Nelson would do acoustic versions of their stuff. The night would always end with everyone singing Garden Party. They were actually pretty fun.

Posted: 7/2/06 at 3:18pmOnly Elvis sold more records, in the 50's and early 60's. Ricky Nelson had 35 hits on the pop charts, yet you'd never know it, if you listened to an oldies station. But then, oldies stations in America play less than 1 tenth of 1 percent of the songs that charted over the years.
