Riddick-#0

I was invited to a pre screening of a movie called Riddick.
I went because Dame Dench is in it.
I can't believe she is in this big budget blood bath.
Agony is an understatement.
I am so sorry to report that Riddick was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

It will appeal to 12-18 year old boys. Violence and bloodshed.
I went for Dame Dench but she only had a tiny role in this violent, bloody science fiction blood bath.
It was not my cup of tea.
But I am not the target market for this film. I think 12-15 year olds will like it.
I did not mind staring at Van Diesel's body though. It was not hard to look at.
Van Diesel has glow in the dark eyes. To bad the script was horrendous.
But his pecs were a big thumbs up!

It's called The Chronicles Of Riddick, to give it its full title. And it has the bizarrest cast: Vin Diesel, Judi Dench, Linus Roache, Thandie Newton. It's a great line up to play One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other.
Why did they try and make a franchise out of Riddick? Why? Pitch Black was a great little movie but it was a one off and that is how it should have been left......

Posted: 6/8/04 at 12:02pmLinus Roache? He's GREAT ! I might have to go see this....
re: Riddick-#7
Posted: 6/8/04 at 12:35pmI lurve me some Linus too. I have met him twice, once at a Q&A screening of Priest and then a couple of years ago at the last night of Corialanus/Richard II double bill performed at the Gainsborough Film Studios before they were torn down. Amazing productions. And he was lovely, the whole cast were collecting for a charity and he and Ralph Fiennes were swamped with people but he was still very sweet to everybody. Ralph was a bit stiff though.
