Made many films but To Kill a Mockingbird stands by itself.
Mulligan
I was very sad to hear this yesterday. He was a wonderful director.
I remember how much I loved his last film "Man In the Moon" which introduced a young Reece Witherspoon to the movie world.
I didn't realize until recently that his brother was Richard Mulligan from Soap and Empty Nest.
Yup. I remember seeing MAN IN THE MOON and thinking "What a great young actress. She'll either become a star or disappear forever."
Don't forget:
SUMMER OF '42 and THE OTHER with Uta Hagen.
Yes, THE OTHER is a rare Hagen foray into film. A bizarre, overcooked performance in a lurid tale, one wonders why she (and Mulligan) were drawn to it. Of the two best selling Tom Tryon novels, I much prefer the lurid pagan ritual domestic drama (!) HARVEST HOME, made into a lurid and dreadful mini-series starring Miss Bette Davis, looking like Sister Aloyisus.
I forgot he did "The Other." I just bought the DVD and watched it around Halloween time! Still VERY creepy and disturbing.
