Roommate/Sublet Resources

Hey all - I'm moving to New York in a week and a half (woo!), and wanted to see if anyone had opinions/experience with sites looking for roommates or sublets. I have a number of leads off of craigslist, but was wondering if people have had experience with either roommates.com or sublet.com? Is it worth it for the fee to search the database?

And if anyone has a short-term sublet or wants a short-term roomate (8/15-end of September), PM me. =)

My friend found a place through Facebook Marketplace. And there's always Craigslist.

Flowery - thanks for the suggestion! I didn't even realize Facebook had practical, useful applications aside from the FluffFriends.
